Diamorphine in the UK

There is a shortage of diamorphine in the UK. Diamorphine is the world’s most powerful painkiller, used in the treatment of people dying of cancer and other dreadful diseases. The current shortage means that many people may be suffering undue pain and indignity in the final stages of their lives.

SShhh.. don't let the damn plebes know that most drugs are available for free in nature!

What are you trying to do - rob the ruling class of its supply of its own drug of choice?

So the war in Afghanistan is now about opium is it ?

That's odd, the last I heard, it was about an oil pipeline.

I think you would see these things differently if you had a bright, beautiful 19 yr old daughter addicted to heroin.

Some facts that may help - the shortage of Diamorphine in the UK was NOT created by a shortage of API (the active pharmaceutical ingredient, in other words the "raw" diamorphine). That has always been in plentiful supply. The shortage was created by a lack of freeze dried powder manufacturing capacity at the 2 companies - Novartis & Wockhardt UK.

There is now no shortage of any strength - all are back in full & free supply.
